We are excited that our town is becoming a culinary scene—you'll find many amazing restaurants nearby!
By the way, we love dogs. We realize they are part of the family. Yours are welcome. We have a private, gated, comfortable outdoor area out back where everyone can relax.
We Get It.
We are Ryan & Julie, and we're locals. We bought
this home because it’s close to where Julie grew up—
and because the area is booming with new restaurants,
galleries, and small businesses, and our neighborhood
reflects that mix of history and renewal - older restored
homes, new builds rising nearby, and retirees who’ve lived here 50 years or more.
Ryan retired from the military a few years ago, and we are also close to Fort Sam. We renovated this 1920 Bungalow ourselves—every piece of hardware, every fixture—we found it, picked it, installed it, and did our best to make it look like the original builder intended—when we took the pieces apart, layer by layer, we found some interesting stories that we'd love to share! Take a look, and you'll find them around the house.
San Antonio has our hearts, and we hope you’ll love it here as much as we do! We've included handmade touches and top-notch amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable. Tucked away in a neighborhood yet close to downtown, the Riverwalk, the Pearl, and so many things to do and see...guests are guaranteed their own stories to write home....

My mother and I had a wonderful stay here. Julie was incredibly accommodating, responsive, generous, and friendly. She is the queen of Southern Hospitality. The house is extremely adorable and comfortable. A lot of love was poured into the designing of this house. We didn’t have a car but an uber ride was easy to take downtown and to the airport. The Story House is a gem! Its location is unbeatable- just minutes from Downtown River Walk and right around the corner from the Spurs’ Arena. Julie has such a gift for making a space feel both fun and comfortable; by cultivating creativity and tranquility, she makes it clear how much care she puts into the details. She was incredibly kind and easy to talk to, making us feel right at home from the start. She has truly raised the bar for future stays.
